Mr. Sikandar Bashir Mohmand is a founding partner in Mohmand Pirzada Advocates and Corporate Counsel based in Islamabad.  Mr. Mohmand has substantial experience of complex, high-stakes and sensitive litigation before all five High Courts of Pakistan as well as the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He has handled a broad range of constitutional, civil, commercial, tax and corporate litigation as well as domestic and international arbitrations. Mr. Mohmand has extensive knowledge of the Constitution and election laws of Pakistan and has appeared as counsel before the Supreme Court in cases of national interest, which has also appointed him as amicus curiae. He also represents clients before quasi-judicial and regulatory authorities and specialist statutory and appellate tribunals.

Besides his dispute resolution practice, Mr. Mohmand has particular expertise in trade remedy laws relating to antidumping, countervailing and safeguard measures, being the principal draftsman of the original legislation enacted in Pakistan to give effect to Pakistan’s WTO treaty obligations. He has represented the domestic industry, importers and other interested parties before the National Tariff Commission, the Antidumping Appellate Tribunal as well as the High Courts in judicial review proceedings arising from orders of the National Tariff Commission.

In addition, Mr. Mohmand is regularly instructed for general legal advisory (non-contention) corporate and commercial work involving civil and commercial laws of Pakistan including: company law, securities laws, insider-trading laws, acquisitions (including equity and asset based acquisitions in the power, telecom, oil & gas, textile, beverages, financial services, banking, sugar manufacturing and mining sectors), anti-trust (competition) laws, regulatory  laws (including banking, power, oil & gas exploration, mining, telecom, sugar mills, public procurement, defense sales and agencies), international sale of goods,  exchange control regulations, foreign investments, joint ventures, concession agreements, privatizations and petroleum laws.
